Easter Weekend with an Update

Well, it certainly has been some time since I have actually posted words on this blog. I thought you might like a bit of an update. So, here is our Update:
This past weekend we celebrated Easter with my family up North. It was a lot of traveling (visiting ailing family in St. Cloud) but we were really grateful to see so many family members. And I am pretty sure they were quite grateful to see Mr. Jackson as well!
On Sunday, we went to church, and then relaxed around the house. Jackson took a few naps, we ate delicious food (my dad makes the BEST prime rib!) and had ourselves a little Easter egg hunt. It was a blast. Jackson helped Grammy find her eggs and was seriously excited each time they found one of those lucky little pink eggs :)
For church, Jackson had the greatest Easter outfit! He was quite dapper in his little man sport coat and jeans. He even got a little gel in fuzzy hair! Oh, how he melted my heart. And I am positive he was having to beat the girls in the nursery off with a stick.....(I am sure it was a nice, soft stick though)....

In other news....we are getting ready to finish off our basement. We have the plans all made, and starting Wednesday we will be getting a brand new furnace and air conditioner installed! I am ecstatic about both of these things. The implications of both of these machines in our life is immeasurable. It means not only will I get AC this summer (last summer I was pregnant without AC in both my house and car....this equals one miserable woman!), but we will also be able to turn the heat up to a nice temperature when it is chilly!! No more wearing wool socks in the house during the winter!!! I hate socks.
We will be starting the demo this weekend, so I am preparing for a messy house in the coming weeks. But I am very excited to be starting on this project. I am pretty sure remodeling is what I live for...but I guess I will tell you for sure in a few months :)

Jackson has been as busy as ever! He has fallen down the stairs a total of 2 times now. Both quite traumatic for both of us. He LOVES being outside. I have to watch him so closely, because he really enjoys eating leaves. YUCK!
He is in 18-24 month clothes. Size 4.5 shoes. He is a little over 26 lbs. and almost half my height! He is such a MOOSE.....
He has been going down for both naps and his night time sleep beautifully. We used to really struggle with getting him to go to bed without crying at night, but now he just snuggles in and falls asleep immediately! I love it. He eats mostly table food now, with cereal and fruit puree in the morning being his only time for 'baby' food. He LOVES panini's with pesto and turkey, chicken nuggets, buffalo chicken, mac n' cheese, pizza, peas, broccoli, and any kind of fruit.
Jackson has learned a few signs which has been really helpful in our communication. He can say 'please', 'all done', and sometimes 'milk'. He mostly just says/signs 'please' when he wants something and we are working on putting that sign together with the thing he wants.
Jack still loves his baths, but they have changed from what they used to be. Now, Jackson MUST stand in the tub. He will sit for a while, but then gets the urge to stand and play with the spout and handle. And sometimes daddy puts a bunch of toys along the edge for him to knock down, which is one of his most favorite things to do!
Oh, and his words! Wowza....this kid is always talking :) He has finally said 'mama', but does not say it to the right person or at the right time. In fact, he doesn't really say it much at all, but I now know that he is capable of it! Everything in his world is a 'da'.  Bojangles is 'da'. Dad is 'da  da  da  da...'. The grass is 'da'. You get the idea. If you ask him what a cow says he will say 'moooooooooooooooo'. It is really great! He also knows what sound a car, lion and chick makes, but will only do them on command some of the time. Though any time he sees a cow or something with wheels, he will make the noise that correlates with the item. He is so stinken' smart :)

Well, now that this post is super huge, I better be on my way. Life is really fun with Jackson. We are enjoying teaching him new things, and are really looking forward to the summer with the little guy! Oh, and the random barn pictures are from visiting my Uncle on his farm. My dad grew up on this farm, and I spent many summers chasing kittens around this place. It is very dear to my heart.
