Jackson's Two Month Check-Up

Jackson is two months old.....yikes! These last two months have DEFINITELY gone faster than the last two months of my pregnancy. During those two months, I was certain that I would be pregnant forever. I couldn't fit into anything, including doorways, and I was so anxious to meet the kicking-hiccuping-chubby cheeked little/big guy inside, that time seemed to stand still.

But today, Jackson is over two months old and I often find myself wishing time would just stand still again. Yesterday I changed out all of his 0-3 month clothing and replaced it with 3-6 month sizes. I am also thinking that I need to purchase 6-9 month onzies because his poor 3-6's are working hard, real hard. If Jackson said "Mom, does this make me look fat?" I would most definitely need to reply 'yes, love', but then I guess I would also have to mention that his three chin's do not help in the appearance of thinning him out!

At the Pediatricians office on Monday Jackson weighed in at 13 lbs. 6 oz. putting him in the 88th percentile for weight. His height - 24.5" - put him in the 93rd percentile with the 97th being the top! Crazy, tall boy! Everything checked out great at his appointment with the most traumatic action hurting me more than it probably hurt him....shots. I have never experienced a feeling like holding your little one down on the table, talking to him and sending distracting smiles, all right before he gets stuck with a needle so big you swear it is going to come out the other side of his leg! Oh, and the scream after this gouging....excruciating. I ached everywhere. Thankfully, between the two of us, Jackson did much better. He only cried after the second shot. What a trooper.

Another great post! Just went shopping for Cece--bought 12-18 month clothes for my 8 month old. A store clerk today asked if she was 18 months old. What are we going to do with these "above average" children? Basketball anyone?!:)
