Jackson is One!

Jackson is officially a year old. I cannot believe that this time last year, Mark and I were trying to figure out life with a newborn; learning to change diapers without a shower, bathing a very slippery and tiny human, and finding sleep in any opportunity. It was life-changing and quite demanding at times, but truly, oh so sweet.

My sweet little Jackson:

I am so in love with you. You have made life so much more adventurous. I love learning more about you each day that we get to spend together. You are very inquisitive asking 'wasz daaaat' to EVERYTHING. You are a quick learner (if you want to be) and you have the sweetest disposition, often sneaking over to give me wet smooches and precious grins. 

Although you have a very caring side, there is no mistaking that the Lord made you ALL boy. You love to get dirty, you could care less if you your diaper if full, and you eat like a horse...often out-eating me at lunch :) You love anything that is round and as soon as you spot it you yell out 'baw baw baw' while pointing to it. You like bouncing on the bed, and anytime someone is laying on their back you come screeching over to tackle them and wrestle. You enjoy wheels on anything whether it is the suburban or a toy car. Also, anytime we put 'at the wheel' of any vehicle (lawnmower or car) you would spend hours pretending you are driving, touching and pushing all the knobs and dials. You instantly get frustrated when we take you away...

God is so gracious to give us a son a precious as you. I feel so honored to be your mother and am truly looking forward to seeing the man you grow into. But, take your time (just as you are with learning to use a fork) because I am ready for your growing to slow down a bit :)
