He arrived. Can you believe it?! December 23, 2010. 7 lbs. 15 oz 19.5 inches.
Benaiah Mark Gaalswyk. He is such a precious babe, and although there are a few similarities linking them as brothers, Ben couldn’t be more different than Jackson . I love this about them. I love that he is only (almost) 3 weeks old and already has a personality all of his own.
Benaiah loves to be cuddled. He is the happiest and most content when in someone’s arms. He hates nakedness of any kind, and still doesn’t enjoy his baths. He does love to get his hair washed, though. Speaking of hair…have you ever seen such nice hair on a babe?! Ha! Jackson came out as bald as ever and has just recently started growing it, and then Mr. Ben just struts into the world with a luscious set of locks. These locks are quite nice, however, it literally needs to be washed daily, otherwise it gets greasy! I don’t even wash my own hair that often!
Anyway, life is fun with all these boys in my life. I can only imagine the adventures they are going to bring me on in the future years. A quick little glimpse into our household:
Tonight as I was ‘feeding’ Benaiah on our bed, Jackson and Mark came in from shoveling snow. They were wild and crazy and Jack decided he wanted daddy to do ‘superman’. Not totally sure what he was talking about I told him to ask daddy. Next thing I know, both boys (Mark and Jack) are flinging themselves onto the bed, yelling SUPERMAN before they hit their target. They literally would get a running start from the adjacent room, and then ‘fly’ onto the bed! All the while, I am trying to get the newest Gaalswyk fella to settle down and eat.
I feel so honored that God has given us another little man to care for. Mark and I are blessed beyond belief with Jackson , and I can only imagine how full our life is going to be with Benaiah. What a privilege to raise these boys into God fearing leaders of their home and family. If they turn out anything like their father, they are going to be strong and courageous men, who love just as hard as they play.
