Benny's 2nd Surgery

Yesterday we were up bright and early. We needed to check into Gillette by 6:15 meaning we had to leave our house by 5:45. I left Benny in his pj's so I wouldn't disturb him too much and hopefully, he wouldn't be too mad about not getting anything to eat or drink. He did great.
Arriving at the hospital and getting his 'special' gown
Once we got to the hospital we checked in and everything went according to schedule. That place is a well oiled machine and we are so thankful for the staff there. They absolutely love Benny and cater to his every need. Seriously, all the nurses just ooh and awe over the little bugger every time we go there!

Ben didn't do as well with all the prelim stuff this time. He cried while he got his oxygen levels checked and he cried when they tried to take his blood pressure. He also cried quite a bit when I had to hand him off to the nurses to take him back for the surgery (absolutely broke my heart). I can't help but think he remembered the last time?! Poor bubby.

Despite his poor reaction before the surgery (and a bit while waking up) he really did amazingly well and is handling the pain with grace. He is such a brave boy and we are definitely back to trying to keep him from crashing into everything!

The doctor was also able to get all of the pigment out yesterday, and is thinking it will be about 9 months before we need to do the next surgery....which is great news considering we thought it would be much sooner than that! The incision is much longer than the last one making me even more nervous about recovery and keeping that thing intact! Please pray with me that these stitches are strong and that they do their job perfectly!
The incision extends from the edge of his nostril down  and around his top lip
Thank you so much for all your prayers. We feel so blessed to have so many people praying for our family and these doctors.
